About the game

Short description

A four-player co-op survival horror game. Explore, coordinate, and get out before the things in the dark find you first. Stay quiet. Stay hidden. Stay together, because the moment you're alone, something is already behind you.

Full description

Four of you go in. The lights don't last. The things hunting you each want something different: one hears you, one sees you, one waits for the moment you're on your own.

Every round is a case. Somebody went into the house and didn't come back, and you're going in to find out why. Follow the leads they left behind, piece together what happened, and reach the way out, knowing that every step forward makes more of the house take notice.

Absentia is built around needing each other. Your teammate is the one who turns and sees the thing behind you, watches the door while you work, and gets you out when it goes wrong. Split up, and you won't make it.

Key features

  • Co-op survival horror for up to four players, where one of the entities can only be banished by two players looking at it together.
  • Five distinct entities that hunt by sound, by sight, by isolation, in darkness, and by guarding the rooms you need, with more to discover.
  • A new case every round: leads, threats and entity behaviour shift each time, and the house reacts to how you're playing.
  • Proximity voice chat that fades through walls and down corridors.
  • A flashlight that overheats and house lights that fail, so light is something you spend carefully.

Streaming and video policy

You're welcome to stream Absentia, make videos of it and monetise them on any platform, without asking first. Please tag us when you post so we can share it: @swanstreetstudios on TikTok and YouTube, @swanstreetstudiosofficial on Instagram, @SwanStreetGames on X.

We have keys for creators and press. Email hello@swanstreetstudios.com with your channel or outlet, where you publish, and roughly when you'd like to play.

Content notes: horror themes and jump scares. Some moments use flickering and flashing light; photosensitive mode in Settings tones these down.
